Hey there, food allergy mamas! As spring arrives, let’s talk about a topic that is front of mind for many of us: nut free Easter eggs and other allergy-friendly Easter candy. 

As a food allergy mom myself, I understand the challenges we face in ensuring our children can fully participate in the Easter festivities while keeping their allergies in check. I’m going to share a snippet of my own journey finding safe nut-free (and allergy-free) Easter eggs and why even as a dietitian I don’t want my child left without a safe candy alternative for him.

When a product proudly boasts being made in a “free from” facility, it means that the entire production process is meticulously designed to eliminate the risk of cross-contamination with common allergens, including dairy. 

These facilities follow rigorous protocols, from ingredient sourcing to manufacturing, ensuring that the snacks you bring into your home are genuinely safe for your little one with a dairy allergy.

These are great because you can often find them at your local Target, Walgreens, grocery or health food store. 

I always recommend buying at least one box as soon as you see them. They go fast and I love the small individual packs of candy to keep throughout the years for small individual safe swaps for my son with food allergies.

Important to Note, Although it did not state it on their product info on their website, I did see label information on Amazon that stated Moo-Free may contain traces of hazelnuts, which would not make these nut-free.
